Personal Background:
single/never
married; loves dog Lallow
Grew up in
Chicagoland in a showbiz family (with a wacky "Disney-esque"
dad, a full-time musician and inventor); Tamara became a tuba player as
a child, believing herself tone deaf until age 15 when her gift of song
flourished as she committed her life to Christ at the Methodist Camp Grounds in Des Plaines, IL, where she
has spent every summer of her life; Moved to Nashville, TN for one year
to learn about the music biz (worked at Star Song Records) before moving
back to Chicagoland in 1989 to co-found a new inter-denominational church
(Hawthorn Hills Community
Church) with a passion for unchurched suburbanites; Current music ministry
vision was forged following father's 1996 death
Moved to
Central Florida 1999
EXPERIENCE:
professional performer since 1976 (Bozo's Circus mid 70s); a singer in popular 80s power-vocals
band (Providence); radio jingles/themes (WGN); Music Director (Mrs. Illinois Pageants); church
music arranger/multimedia/graphic arts (Hawthorn Hills Community Church)
PASSIONS:
seeing believers & unbelievers (especially those with inner conflicts
of addictions & self-esteem issues) come to know God as He designed
for us to know Him; using creative gifts (music & novel writing) to
impact people's lives; meeting basic needs of those impacted by natural disaster & other community devastation; travel to see this great big small world
