NOTE: A standard REHEARSAL TAPE rate is about 30¢ per song/per copy, but the current mechanical statutory rate for the industry is $.08 per song/per copy or $.0155 per minute whichever is greater. (effective until January 1, 2004 - rates are consistently raised each calendar year)

The laws are behind the technology. Almost NO publishers have "MP3" usage policies. Check with specific individual publishers & administrators for all permissions & usages, especially when it comes to sending/receiving audio files over the internet & in non-traditional formats.
