IN THE WILDERNESS
by Tamara K Gross
I'm a city girl with a city life
'Bout a million busy city thoughts rush through my mind
So I'm on the move and I'm movin' fast
There's a lot of ground to cover, Got a ton of plans
Well I'm on my way, No time for what You say
In the wilderness
Now I've lost it all, all the hopes and dreams
I'm astounded by the cruel joke my fortune now seems
I'm a broken soul with a broken heart
Never thought I'd find myself here under desert stars
And I'm all alone, Nothing to do but roam
In the wilderness
In the wilderness I have all the time I need and more
In the wilderness the quiet throbs in my head with a roar
In the wilderness, I don't want to stay in this desolate land
I won't survive in the wilderness
All the madness goes and the stillness comes
When the racket of the world disappears with the throng
And a funny thingnever thought I'd say
There's an unexpected welcome as I greet each new day
So I'm standing poised to hear that still small voice
In the wilderness
In the wilderness I have all the time I need and more
In the wilderness the quiet throbs in my head with a roar
In the wilderness, like a child embraced in her father's arms
I will survive in the wilderness
It's a cold hard fact that a dying breath
Speaks the truth that otherwise might never get said
And a newborn's cry as it leaves the womb
Is the sweetest cry of anguish singing out a new tune
There is joy in pain if we see what we gain
In the wilderness
In the wilderness I have all the time I need and more
In the wilderness the quiet throbs in my head with a roar
In the wilderness, I'm a child embraced in the Father's arms
And I'll survive
In the wilderness I have all the time I need and more
In the wilderness the quiet throbs in my head with a roar
In the wilderness, I'm a child embraced in the Father's arms
And I'll survive, I know I'll survive
In the wilderness
